Suspected Burglar Arrested After High-Speed Chase and Standoff

Bend, OR – A man suspected of involvement in several burglaries was arrested after a dramatic high-speed chase and standoff, authorities said. Derek Seledkov, 35, was taken into custody on December 4, after being treated for non-life-threatening injuries sustained during the standoff.

The incident began on the night of November 28, shortly before 9 p.m., when Marion County deputies initiated a pursuit of Seledkov, who was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe northbound on Interstate 5 toward Woodburn. Law enforcement officials believe Seledkov is connected to multiple burglaries in the Clackamas County area.

The pursuit ended in a standoff, during which Seledkov was taken into custody. He was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment before being booked into the Clackamas County Jail upon his release.

Seledkov faces a range of charges, including third-degree theft, attempting to elude a police officer, second-degree burglary, felon in possession of a firearm, and reckless driving. In addition, he was booked on nine outstanding warrants from Marion County, which include charges for DUII, resisting arrest, and felon in possession of a firearm. He also faces six drug-related warrants from Polk County.

Detectives suspect Seledkov’s involvement in several burglaries across Clackamas County. Authorities are continuing their investigation as they work to determine the full extent of his alleged criminal activities.
