BEND, Ore. — The City of Bend will host a neighborhood roundtable in October, bringing city councilors and representatives from three southwest Bend neighborhood districts together to discuss growth, infrastructure and future development.

The meeting is scheduled for Oct. 12 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Oregon State University–Cascades’ Edward J. Ray Hall, 1500 SW Chandler Ave.

The discussion will include representatives from the Southwest Bend, Century West and Southern Crossing neighborhood districts, along with members of the Bend City Council.

City staff will begin the evening with a brief presentation before the roundtable discussion. Attendees will then have an opportunity to speak with staff, ask questions and learn about current and upcoming projects affecting the area.

Topics are expected to include infrastructure, transportation, complete neighborhoods, future development and other issues affecting southwest Bend.

Although the discussion will focus primarily on southwest Bend, the meeting is open to community members from across the city.

Bend has 13 recognized neighborhood districts, which are intended to provide residents and others in the community with opportunities to participate in local issues and connect with city decision makers.

The Oct. 12 event is the latest neighborhood roundtable organized by the city as part of its community engagement efforts.
