Bend Man Found Dead in Motel Room, Police Investigating Homicide

Bend, OR – Police in Bend are investigating the death of a 34-year-old man found Friday morning in a motel room, with authorities confirming that the case is being treated as a homicide.

At approximately 8:25 a.m. on Friday, January 5, Bend police responded to a welfare check request at the Holiday Motel, located in the 800 block of SE Third Street. The motel employee who made the request reported finding an unresponsive man inside one of the rooms.

Upon arrival, officers confirmed that the man, identified as Robert Lewis Treher, was deceased. His death was determined to be the result of foul play, leading authorities to classify the case as a homicide. No further details regarding the circumstances of his death have been released at this time.

Bend Police Communications Manager Sheila Miller stated that an investigation is ongoing and that no arrests have been made. The department is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

The Holiday Motel, a small establishment located in southeast Bend, has been the scene of increased police activity as detectives continue to search for clues in the case.
