Man Dies Following Downtown Portland Shooting; Suspect at Large

Portland, Ore. — A man has died following a shooting in Downtown Portland late Sunday night, prompting an active investigation by the Portland Police Bureau’s Homicide Unit.

According to authorities, the incident occurred on April 27 at approximately 10:20 p.m. Officers from the Central Precinct responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of South Harbor Drive and South Harrison Street. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds.

Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead due to the severity of his injuries. Police have not yet released the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.

Witnesses reported seeing at least one suspect fleeing the scene. However, no arrests have been made at this time, and police have not released any suspect description. Investigators are canvassing the area for surveillance footage and urging anyone with information to come forward.

The Portland Police Bureau is asking that anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant footage or tips contact the Homicide Unit or submit information anonymously through Crime Stoppers.

This marks yet another violent incident in the downtown core, raising concerns among residents and business owners about public safety in the area.
