Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity Unveils Sustainable, Affordable Home for Middle-Income Families

BEND, Ore. – Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity is proud to showcase its newest project, a two-bedroom, two-bathroom home that balances affordability with sustainability. Located at 1745 SE Wilson Avenue, the home sits just off the Wilson Avenue and 15th Street roundabout, making it easily accessible for prospective homeowners.

Designed with middle-income families in mind, the home is intended for those earning between $82,000 and $135,000 annually. This initiative aims to provide families with an affordable housing option that aligns with modern energy standards. The house has been built to meet net-zero energy efficiency standards, which will result in significantly lower utility bills for its future occupants.

A standout feature of the property is the absence of a required down payment, allowing qualified buyers the opportunity to purchase a home without the typical financial barrier. The home is expected to go on sale in June, with applications being accepted through April 21. Those interested can submit their applications via an online portal.

In addition to the application process, Habitat for Humanity will be holding open house events on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., giving potential buyers a chance to tour the property and learn more about the benefits of living in this sustainable, energy-efficient home.

Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity’s commitment to providing affordable housing solutions that are both environmentally conscious and financially accessible reflects the growing demand for sustainable living in Central Oregon. As the cost of living continues to rise, projects like this offer a much-needed lifeline for families striving to achieve homeownership.
