BEND, Ore. — Drivers in several parts of Bend should prepare for road closures, lane restrictions and detours beginning this week as construction and infrastructure projects continue across the city.
NW 14th Street between NW Newport Avenue and NW Ogden Avenue is scheduled to close during daytime hours from Sept. 21 through Sept. 25 for water service installations. The full closure is expected to be in effect from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, according to the City of Bend’s latest weekly road report.
Another new traffic impact begins Sept. 23 at the intersection of Pettigrew Road and Azalia Avenue, where crews are scheduled to install a sewer main. Single-lane closures with flaggers are expected from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Oct. 30.
Several existing construction zones will also remain in place. NW Wall Street between NW Colorado and NW Arizona avenues will continue to have a single-lane closure and lane shift through Sept. 25, while NE Vail Lane between NE Eighth and NE Sixth streets remains closed to through traffic during daytime construction through Oct. 2. Local access will remain available on Vail Lane.
On NE Division Street, the southbound lane between Highway 20 and NW Lakeside Place remains closed as canal restoration work continues. A detour is in place, with the restriction currently scheduled through Oct. 2.
Construction also continues along Cooley Road and Ranch Village Drive as crews install a new gravity sewer main. Portions of Ranch Village Drive remain closed to through traffic, while one lane of Cooley Road is closed with two-way traffic maintained by flaggers.
The city is advising motorists to use designated detours and exercise additional caution around construction zones. Work schedules may change because of weather or other conditions.
