Tillamook, OREGON – According to the U.S. Coast Guard, sailboat with two people left at around 4:15 a.m. Sunday.

Authorities say the sailboat was traveling to California.

Witnesses reported a vessel being tossed aground in the surf.

The Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office called in assistance from the Coast Guard.

The body of a woman was found near a dingy.

The second victim was found under the boat that had run around at Nedonna Beach.
