Oregon City, OR – An explosion in a basement on the 900 block of 7th Street in Oregon City left one person injured Sunday morning. Firefighters quickly responded to the scene after receiving a report of the blast just before 8:30 a.m.

According to Clackamas Fire spokesperson Izak Hamilton, emergency crews arrived to find a commercial building’s basement on fire. The explosion had triggered the fire, but responders were able to quickly contain and extinguish the flames upon arrival.

The injured individual was treated at the scene, though their condition and the extent of their injuries have not yet been disclosed. Firefighters are still investigating the cause of the explosion, and no further details about the incident have been released at this time.
