Redmond Police Seek Public’s Help in Locating Missing Man

REDMOND, Ore. – Authorities are continuing their search for a 28-year-old man, Malecai Sloan-Ramsey, who went missing last month after going for a walk west of Redmond. Despite two extensive searches involving K-9 teams and drones, the man has yet to be found, prompting the Redmond Police Department to turn to the public for assistance.

Sloan-Ramsey was last seen on January 16 near the Buckhorn Staging area, just outside the city limits of Redmond. According to Lieutenant April Huey, he had told friends he was planning to go for a walk, but has not been heard from since. His family and friends have been unable to make contact with him, raising concerns about his safety.

Police began their search for Sloan-Ramsey on January 23, when they received a report of a possible missing person. They were assisted by the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office during the search, which also took place earlier this week. The efforts included the use of K-9s and drones, but unfortunately, no new leads have emerged in the case.

In their search for answers, the Redmond Police Department released three photos of Sloan-Ramsey on Thursday, describing him as a white male, approximately 6-foot-4, weighing around 170 pounds. He is said to have facial tattoos and often sports a mustache and goatee. At the time of his disappearance, he was reportedly wearing red Jordan sneakers, blue Carhart-style pants, and a flannel shirt.

Despite exhaustive efforts, authorities have yet to locate Sloan-Ramsey, and they are now reaching out to the public for any tips or information that could assist in the investigation.

Anyone with information about Sloan-Ramsey’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Redmond Police Department at 541-693-6911 through their non-emergency dispatch line.

The community’s help may be crucial in bringing closure to the case and ensuring his safe return.
