Coquille Police Investigate Multiple Acts of Criminal Mischief by Local Transient

COQUILLE, Ore. — The Coquille Police Department is investigating a series of vandalism incidents that occurred on the morning of March 31, 2025, involving local transient Karma Lee Perry. Perry, 35, was arrested three times in connection with several reports of damage to both public and private property in the area.

According to authorities, Perry is believed to have caused or attempted to cause significant damage at several locations throughout Coquille, including the Coos County District Attorney’s Office, Highway Deli Mart, Coos County Juvenile Department, 223 North Alder Street, and the Corner Bar and Grill. The total estimated cost of the damage is currently over $10,000.

Perry’s first arrest occurred at 5:13 a.m., with the suspect being transported to the Coos County Jail. However, police report that Perry was released shortly after and then arrested again just over an hour later, at 6:20 a.m. Perry was brought back to jail for a second time, but damage continued to occur, leading to a third arrest at 7:42 a.m. on the same day.

Authorities suspect that some of the vandalism took place during the intervals between Perry’s arrests and releases, with incidents occurring while Perry was briefly freed from jail. Investigators are also looking into whether damage occurred prior to Perry’s initial arrest, which happened after 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 30.

Perry faces multiple charges, including Criminal Mischief and Criminal Trespass, as authorities continue to assess the full extent of the damage caused. The Coquille Police Department has assured the public that they are committed to investigating the series of events and ensuring that Perry is held accountable for the destruction.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with further information about the incidents is encouraged to contact the Coquille Police Department.
