Governor Kotek Submits Board and Commission Appointments to Oregon Senate for Confirmation

Bend, OR – On January 15, 2025, Governor Tina Kotek submitted a list of state board and commission appointments and reappointments to the Oregon Senate for confirmation. The Senate Committee on Rules is expected to review the nominations in early February.

In a statement, Governor Kotek highlighted the importance of accountability, transparency, and good governance in the appointment process. “When I make and review appointments, I name those who carry out their task with the same accountability, transparency, and good governance that I consider as paramount in everything we do for Oregonians,” she said. She also expressed her gratitude to the nominees and those who contributed to the decision-making process, which addresses some of the state’s most pressing issues.

The Governor’s appointments cover over 265 boards and commissions that span a broad range of state sectors, including major state agencies and departments. These boards are integral to the policy-making process, with many playing crucial roles in shaping the state’s direction.

In addition to the current nominations, Governor Kotek noted that there are ongoing opportunities for Oregonians to apply for positions on existing boards and commissions. The Governor has emphasized her commitment to ensuring that these bodies reflect the state’s diversity, including age, race, gender, and geographic representation.
