Bend, OR – Bend Police reported a residential burglary on March 12, 2026, that resulted in the death of an intruder and injuries to a homeowner in Bend, Oregon.
According to police, the incident occurred around 11:45 p.m. on the 3500 block of NW Braid Drive when a resident confronted an unknown person attempting to break into their home. A struggle ensued, after which the intruder fled on foot.
The homeowner sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported from the scene by Bend Fire and Rescue. During a subsequent area search, officers located the intruder on a nearby golf course with life-threatening injuries. Emergency medical personnel provided care, but the intruder did not survive.
Bend Police Detectives are leading the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
