Redmond Police Seek Public’s Help in Identifying Additional Victims in Child Abuse Material Case

Redmond, Ore. — The Redmond Police Department is appealing to the public for information related to a local man arrested last fall on charges of possessing child sex abuse material. The arrest followed an investigation that began in July 2024 after the department received cyber-tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

According to Lieutenant April Huey, the NCMEC tips led detectives to online accounts distributing illegal material. Further investigation identified 27-year-old Hunter Slawosky of Redmond as the operator of these accounts. In October, Redmond police served a search warrant at Slawosky’s home in the 300 block of SW 11th Street. He was subsequently arrested on October 31.

Slawosky has been indicted on 20 felony counts, including first- and second-degree encouraging child abuse, which are classified as Class B and C felonies. He is currently being held in the Deschutes County Jail on $800,000 bail. His court hearing, where he is expected to enter a plea, is scheduled for February 5, 2025.

During the investigation, detectives uncovered evidence suggesting there may be additional unidentified victims. As a result, the Redmond Police Department is now requesting assistance from the community to help identify any potential victims linked to Slawosky. The department is urging anyone with relevant information to contact Detective Connor Keith at 541-504-3480 or via email at [email protected].

Lieutenant Huey expressed gratitude toward the NCMEC for its role in identifying victims and emphasized the importance of collaboration between local and national agencies to protect the community. “RPD is proud to partner with agencies like NCMEC to work toward making Redmond the safest community in Oregon,” Huey said in a statement.

As the investigation continues, authorities are committed to uncovering the full scope of Slawosky’s alleged actions and bringing justice to any additional victims.
